May 10th 2009 was designated as "La na Club" across the country as the GAA proudly celebrated 125 years of existence and achievement . A wonderfully celebrated special mass , overseen by Fr O'Brien , commenced a full day of activities .
Following the mass , a colourful parade of young and young at heart made it's way to the Club grounds where an action packed day of events for all age groups was planned .
A special presentation was made to GAA Club President Bob Sullivan for over 50 years dedicated service to GAA in the Parish of Lisgoold. The presentation was made by fellow Kerryman and All-Ireland winning footballing legend John Egan
The Ceili in the hall that night showed that it's not just the youngsters who are "fleet of foot".
It was wonderful to see the viobrancy of colour on the day , with , of course the blue and gold of club and red and white of county most prominent , but the welcoming nature of our parish was easy to see with many county jerseys , from Donegal , Armagh , Kilkenny , Limerick , Roscommon , Dublin, Kerry and many many more worn proudly by those new to our parish , and those who have brought fresh ideas and momentum to the club.
A wonderful day of celebration in Lisgoold parish , where we all together celebrated the culture , community spirit and togetherness that makes the GAA , in general , and our proud club , in particular , so special .
